A Poetic Statement at Women's March

For those who attended Women’s March earlier this year, you might have spotted Cocovan doing a live art performance protest.

Once you learn of her you will be mesmerized by her beauty, artistic expression, her overall grace and charm. She is a performance artist and musician, who is becoming well known for her poetic performance statements. I was able to catch one of them at the Women’s March and it was breathtaking.

I was at peace watching her, feeling that her performance was more than just art; it was a statement on how women can be independent in the most difficult of times yet still have grace

She stood on stilts, hovering above the crowd of protestors. I was captivated by her delicate expression. She wore a vibrant, royal blue, long dress. By her side were gold Roman columns. There she placed dozens of dozens pink and white roses. She would take one rose each time and gracefully pull out one petal at a time, not once breaking from this act of protest. I was at peace watching her, feeling that her performance was more than just art; it was a statement on how women can be independent in the most difficult of times yet still have grace. She is currently traveling the world bringing this poetic statement to many others.
