24 Black GURL Artists
Earlier this month we amplified 24 Black gurl artists whom we have a close connection with. Each artist we amplified we have had a longstanding admiration for or we discovered from our Artists showcase, from our Discover: Tours, from art gurls lovers who share with us, or from Instagram.
We decided this information should live outside of Instagram in order to share and connect with these talented Black artists. One way to support and promote Black artists is to do the research, then share and credit each artist (and their artwork) before posting. We urge you to get to know them. Go to their websites, read their bios, subscribe to their email listings, follow them, and/or read their interviews. Purchase their artwork. Do this directly or from the gallery, they are represented by. If we want to see more Black artists in museums and galleries, it starts with us. Representation matters. Tell your local and favorite art institutions what and who you want to see (like one of the 24 Black gurl artists listed below 😉).
