“The ‘valley girl’, like the Valley itself, cannot be continued in a stereotype.” For March’s GMD Los Angeles Tour, we’re heading to Brand Library & Art Center for Valley Girl Redefined.
We will begin by meeting on the side of library in front of Art Center entrance. The first half to the tour will be dedicated to exploring Valley Girl Redefined exhibition with this month’s special guest, Erin Stone. She is the curator of the Valley Girl Refined as also the Co-Founder & Co-Director of 11:11 A Creative Collective. The second half is touring Brand Library, the iconic and stunning Art Decor architecture. First 5 to arrive will get a GMD Official Button!

Special Guest
Erin Stone
Erin is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of 11:11 A Creative Collective, a non profit arts organization based out of the San Fernando Valley and the Assistant Supervisor of Exhibitions at Brand LIbrary & Art Center in Glendale, Ca. Erin spent a number of years working with at-risk youth in the East Valley teaching various subjects including art and photography. She has over 12 years experience in grassroots activism, event planning, youth mentorship and community development through the arts. She has taught English through art in India and Nepal and has volunteered for a number of international and domestic social justice, education and environmental organizations. She specializes in creative marketing, community organizing, all things media and design and acts as the program director and head curator for 11:11 ACC.

10:00 – 10:30 am Meet ’n Greet
We’ll meet in the front entrance of the Make Room LA gallery. Find GMD’s founder Diane Lindquist waiting to meet y'all. There you will briefly introduce yourself, describe what you are passionate about, and your current art obsession before we proceed to our gallery hop.
10:30 – 12:30 pm Explore Valley Girl Redefined Exhibition
The first half to the tour will be dedicated to exploring Valley Girl Redefined exhibition with this month’s special guest, Erin Stone. She is the curator of the Valley Girl Refined as also the Co-Founder & Co-Director of 11:11 A Creative Collective. She will guide us through the exhibition highlighting some of the key artwork there.
12:30 – 1:30 pm Explore the Brand Library
This is totally optional. Following the Valley Girl Redefined tour, GMD Founder Diane Lindquist will guide you through the Brand Library’s iconic and stunning Art Decor architecture. You will learn it’s history and influence and later invite to check out the library on your own.
